Flat-line coating is a method to powder coat flat metal stock before products are formed. The system can coat formed parts, coil stock, blanks, ceiling tiles or even car brake pads.

The Nordson flat-line system can coat products at line speeds over 15 m/min (50 feet per minute), which is several times faster than conventional finishing methods. First-pass transfer efficiency is typically in the range of 96 to 99 percent.
