Nordsons range of cartridge booths are designed for automatic powder coating applications with approximately three colours or less.
For single colour or 'spray to waste' applications a fixed recovery module (type NCB) system is used. The module is directly connected to the spray booth canopy, and has an integral direct drive fan to provide powder extraction in the booth.
For applications with more than one colour, a system with a mobile removable cartridge filter module is used (type NQCB), to allow modules dedicated to different colours to be simply attached to the system.
The extraction airflow from the booth is provided by a fan stand unit above the module which does not need to be removed during colour change. Fitted as standard on all NCB and NQCB systems are integral final filters to allow exhaust air to be returned to the factory environment. The fan stand unit also contains the direct drive fan and cartridge filter cleaning system.
Each NCB or NQCB module connects directly to the spray booth, which is made from stainless steel or PVC to a bespoke design suited to each application.

To meet EU regulations, powder is recycled back to each colour module by a booth base sweeper or integral booth hoppers.
